Hi Ken,

Wow! I had thought that John might be the right one, and he was in the census as married to Harriet L. (I thought maybe Lake, and that would be where the name came from . . .). In the 1880 Pocahontas Co census I got from the library in Clarksburg, WV, it shows John as 29, Harriet L. 18 - and they are living with Thomas, 27, Elizabeth J., 24, and their 3 young children. It looks like pg # 356 . . .

I printed out all the Rigsbys I could find at one time - in
VA, so I have a lot of families, but of course had no 'link' to get back to any of them.

I have requested John Lake Rigsby's marriage license from Nicholas County, also his birth record - if they can find one, given that I have no dob - from Pocahontas Co. So when I opened up your email, I was thrilled !!! I don't know how you can put it all together . . . I have only been working at this for a few months, and I see just how complicated it can be . . . with all the children having similar names, and the ages fluctuating, etc.

I REALLY appreciate your return post . . . It is very kind of you to help, and if ever I can return the favor, just ask!!
If possible, before the snow flies, I am planning another trip down to WV, and hopefully I will have the Rigsby line nailed down . . . at least to an area to visit !!

With best regards, and many Thanks!!
