Howdy MaryEllen

Thanks for joining in with your information.

I know only a little about your husband's Archibald. So far
I know that he married Catherine Cornwell and had a son
Henry about 1879. Can you tell me more about them? I know
Archibald was in Boyd Co KY on the 1880 census, but I
haven't yet found him on the 1900 census.

I'm a little puzzled by your listing of Thomas' children by
his two wives. For one thing, the son Thomas is shown with
a middle initial of "D" on the 1860 census. "Lewis" was a
common name on that branch, so I could easily believe he
was Thomas Lewis, but the census shows Thomas D, just like
his father. On the 1870 and 1880 census Thomas Jr is shown
with no middle initial.

Also, I show son George born in 1855 and son Marion born in
1858, which implies they are both from Mary Jane Baber. I
also show daughter Nancy born 1862, which makes her also
from Thomas' first wife. I did not know about Wallace and
the younger children. Thank you for that information. Do
you have birth dates for the younger children?

>I show John Rigsby as married to Harriet Lee Simms, not Simmons.

I saw the name Simmons on a message on the Ancestry.com
message board for Rigsby:

http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=an&p=surnames.rigsby

[Search for 'Simmons' to find the message.] I don't have
any other references that give a last name for her, so I
can't swear that it was Simmons. Do you have a reliable
source for her name as Simms?

The message gives John + Harriet's children as Myrtle,
Lake, Guy, Mary Pearl, and Bazel. Again, this one message
is so far my only reference for this family. I am searching
the 1900 census, but have not yet reached WV. When I get
there I should find more information on them.

Ken
