There is a Colonel Rigsby on the Board of Commissioners of the Indian Trade in
the Journals of the Commissioners of the Indian Trade: Sept 20, 1710 - August
29, 1718 (Colonial record of South Carolina). John Pight (Soundex=Pickett)
appears in the Journal, also.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY ROAD ORDERS 1732-1746 By Nathaniel Mason Pawlett
At its inception, Brunswick Co comprised a large part of the
Piedmont frontier east of the Blue Ridge and south of the James River.
In 1746 Lunenburg Co was created from Brunswick Co.

Ordered that a road be cleared from Robert Humphris's into Burch's Road
along the Ridge between Sturgeon Run and Waqua and that John Wyrick

Ordered that James Rigsby be Surveior of the Road in the room of

Notes for William Hawkins: He landed in Norfolk Co., but by 1637 he had bought land and
had a plantation along the New Poquoson River near James Cittie. He bought land adjoining
Peter Rigsby's plantation. Uncertain what records, if any, identified him to an earlier
researcher as a son of William Hawkins and Mary Halse.
