Meg,
There is available a wealth of information about Riker's Island plus collections of data ofmany many hundreds of individuals descended from various generations of Rikers who owned the island. Surely you cannot expect that anyone is just going to ship youall of that information/data!If you are serious in your question you have to cite what information you have, i.e., the basis in names and dates that leads you to think that you may be connected to the Rikers of Riker's Island, so that anyone inclined to help you could crosscheck with his or her data.Without your doing that you are indeed wasting the time of anyone who might otherwise be in a position to help you. You should be aware that there are other Riker families, descended from other early immigrants, that are entirely separate fronm the Riker's Island Rikers. If you do not want to proceed seriously with asking for help, you might consider doing some research yourself, and in that case James Riker's 1852 "The Annals of Newtown" would give you some basic information.
