Rimmer DNA Y-Chromosome Test
I sent off my DNA sample to the University of Leicester as a volunteer for their research project looking into the descendants of Norse Vikings currently living in Lancashire and Merseyside, the theory being that the ancestors sailed from Scandinavia around the Orkneys, settling in Dublin, then being expelled by the Irish kings and finding haven on the Wirrall (possibly North Meols) around 902AD. As Rimmers were evident in the area pre-Industrial Revolution I fitted the profile.
My (predicted) Haplogroup is I2b1 with the following STR Markers:
DYS19 17
DYS385a 15
DYS385b 16
DYS389I 12
DYS389II 28
DYS390 25
DYS391 11
DYS393 13
DYS437 15
DYS438 10
DYS439 11
DYS448 20
DYS456 14
DYS458 17
DYS635 21
YGATAH4 10
Has any other Rimmer done the Y test?
