As is mine Naomi, but like I said, all Rines or Rhines in America are direct decendants of a John RANES who came to Massachusetts in the 1720's. I have seen documation of this in Nova Scotia. The name RANES is from England and was changed to Rines by the son of John Ranes. John Rines 2 changed it to Rines when he settled at Maitland, Nova Scotia In the mid-1750's. Must be that John Ranes parents left England for Ireland and then to the States.
