Carol, I too am a Rinker descendant through George, that moved to Indiana.His descendents moved on to Missouri.We have been to the old homestead and also am glad you are buying and restoring the place.I wish you lots of happy days there.We believe the old log house was built about 1770 for Jacob, Jr.
According to family history, some Indians came through one day when only one Rinker woman and her baby were home.She took the baby and climbed up into the large fireplace and hid there until the Indians left.Jacob, the Elder and his son Jacob Jr. are both buried about 1/2 mile west of Conicville.
