My records show "Reusser" as being the surname used when the family was in Switzerland and, as I understand it, the Reusser's were Mennonites and migrated to Germany to escape religeous persecution. They are shown using the surname "Risser" while in Germany until the migration to America in 1739 by Peter Risser and Elizabeth (Hershey) Risser and Peter's father Hans. Many vsriations of the spelling came about as the family branched out into Canada and elsewhere. My branch was/is Reser. Chief RedBird Notify Administrator about this message?
