The "Chief Redbird" is from one of my ancestors on my father's (Slate/Strong)side....a fellow by the name of Aaron Brock was supposedly, the famous/infamous "Chief Redbird"
There is much controversy over whether or not he was the famed chief. But whether he was or wasn't the CHief, he was still my ancestor and recent DNA tests show that the Brock Family are indeed of American Indian blood!
James Rolff tells of this in one of his books or writings about the Kentucky Cherokee. One book is called "Kentucky Cherokee: People of the Cave" which I will someday find a copy of.

As far as finding NA blood in the Risser/Reser side it is frustrating because of their Mennonite belief they pretty much married Mennonites.

As for finding NA blood in your family tree....if you can find a legit and trustworthy lab that doesn't charge a ton...........have a DNA test! They say even a small amount will show up.

I haven't had one because of the 3 to 4 sources I have which are confirmed.

Good luck and keep looking.

Chief Redbird
