Victoria, I am answering your query for John Rist in hopes there is a connection here.

My ggrandfather's name was Jacob Rist (don't know if he had a middle name); he married a Victoria in Tyrol (suppose this is Switzerland). They are listed on the Missouri Census for 1870 living in St Louis, Missouri. They have a daughter Victoria who is 5 years old. Between 1870 - 1880 Victoria must have died because he is remarried on 1880 census to Anna and had children by her. One of the children by Victoria was my great grandmother, Emma Rist.

Please get back with me if you are still on line.

Thanks, Sharon
