Dear Alice ,
I'm wondering if you have a Amalie Ristau from Toledo Ohio? she married a Albert Kurrasch. I'm looking for her parents! she was born in Germany in 1867 and died as Mrs. Adolph Stelter. In Alpena Michigan but was taken back to Ohio for burial.
I believe she is a sister to my Gr. Grndf. William AugustAdolph Ristau who was born jan 26 1868 in Germany? we think? His Father was Daniel Ristau but we don't know for sure if he was ever married before I also don't know if Amalie is his daughter and the other two girls.
Amalie also had two sisters of which I know only their married names they were Mrs. Fred Stout of Toledo and Mrs. Paul Schafer of California.
I'm hoping some one knows of their parents. This will give me a clue as to how these families tie in and if they're brother and sister or cousins or was she addopted?
Many of August Ristau's children have her down as a wittness upon their Bapt Certif. In Alpena Michigan but I know she resided most of her life in Ohio. I have many things that show a strong connection to Adolph Stelter and William August as best friends so I 'm sure Amilie is tied into the family somehow.
What else can you tell me about your Ristau family?
We are not sure where are family is orig. from Prussia Pommerania, or poss. France. Thank you Debbie Scherf
