Hi Gerry, sorry to be so long in replying. My husband Bryan was in hospital just before Christmas having his 2nd hip operation. Is home now doing well, have been a bit busy during this time and with Christmas here it became busier.
Prior to now I was doing the Heise family history mothers side. Am at a blank wall just now although I did manage to find family in Germany whom we have since visited and they us as well-----so have decided to start the Ristau family to see if we can't find family still exisitng in Germany. I have the August Ristau family book starting since arriving in Canada and also Mrs. Glover's book on David's family.
I too only have Frederick Ristau name father of Jacob & Anna Wordleman Ristau. Am starting with Jacob & Anns names hoping to expand from there.
Have managed to find all the shipping records of all those who emigrated to Canada and from their have found several towns that they were known to have lived at one time.
So starting the new year I plan to order from LDS many church records to see what if anything I can find.
Think I will have a long search in front of me as their are many, many church records to look at.
Merry Christmas to you and yours----------all the best in 2007-------
Whats it like in Scotland just now, we have no snow just the odd rain, and dampness.
Are you living in Scotland permanently or is this a short visit ??
