This indenture made this fourteenth day of March one thousand Eight hundred & thirty four. Between SMILEY CALDWELL AND EVE CALDWELL his wife of the County of Ross and State of Ohio of the first part and THOMAS D. ODLEof the County of Warren and State of Indiana of the second part witnesseth, That the said SMILEY CALDWELL of the first for and in Consideration of the sum of three hundred & fifty Dollars Lawful . . . . in hand paid by the said THOMAS D. ODLE of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said SMILEY CALDWELL of the first part, have granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, and sell unto the said THOMAS D. ODLE of the second part, and to his heirs forever all three tracts or parcels of Land lying and being in the County of Warren and State of Indiana known and designated by the numbers as follows, To wit:The South half of the West half of N.E. quarter of section No. 8 in Township No. 23 North of Range 7 W. containing forty acres. Also the South half of the East* half* of the North West quarter of section 8 in Township No. 23 North of Range 7 West containing forty acres making in all Eighty acres be the same more or less To have and to hold the above described premises hereby sold and conveyed unto the said THOMAS D. ODLE of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever. Together with all and singular, the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any will appertaining to his own proper use and behalf. And the said SMILEY CALDWELL of the first part for his heirs, Executors, and Administrators against the Claim or Claims of all and every person whatever will forever Defend. In Testimony whereof the said SMILEY CALDWELL AND EVE CALDWELL his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.

Before me Henry Walker a justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared FREDERICK RITENHOUR, the true and Lawful Attorney for the above named grantors named in the above Deed of Conveyance acknowledge it to be his voluntary act and deed for the use therein contained. Also for EVE CALDWELL wife of the said SMILEY CALDWELL he relinquished for her all her right to dower in the said premises in witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th day of March 1834.
