I am trying to get more info on my great grandfather Antoine Robar(born about 1862), He married Mary Martin in Colton, St Lawrence County, Ny on June 7, 1888. He was about 26 yrs old, she was about 25. He is supposed to be from Canada. Antoine died on Aug, 10, 1928. Where? Mary Martin was born (mar. 1864) in Vermont, her parents are from Canada, Jerry martin and Eliza Daniels. Mary died on Oct. 16, 1905.

Antoine's father's name is the same as his, Antoine Robar and his mothers name is Victoria Vail, they are both from Canada. Mary left Antoine when their son Frank (my grandfather) was little, her and Frank went by Robarge after that. From this point on I have nothing on Antoine Jr. or Sr. or Victoria Vail, or Mary's parents, etc.

I did find one U.S. census hit for 1870, town of Champlain New York, series mp953, roll 918, page 177. It has Antoine Robar (35) and his wife Anrelia (30), their kids; Andre(12), George(9), Antoine(7), John(3), Gilbert(5), Agnes(5/12). It states Antoine born in New York and his wife Anrelia from Canada. It states that he is a Lake boat Captain.

My mom when I was little stated that the Robar side went back to Quebec or Ontario, found Mary and her mom Eliza Martin on 1900 census and it staes her parents are from Canada as well as Antoine's. If anyone has info on any of these families I would appreciate it.
