Just came across your reply to Christina way back in January of 1999.There is some information in it that puzzles me.Perhaps you could clarify for me.I am descended from a Nathan Robinett of Flintstone, Maryland.I believe my Nathan was a son of George who was a son of Samuel who was a son of Allen. My information states that he was born in 1863 and died in 1835 just as you said. However, my Nathan was married to Nancy Willison not to his cousin Katherine Robinett.I have a copy of his will from the Allegany County Courthouse clearly stating that his wife was Nancy. We found the will when we visited the courthouse in April of 2002.I understand that George's brother Nathan had a son named George and George had a son named Nathan so it gets rather confusing.I have seen records from those days which refer to "George of Nathan" and "Nathan of George" to distinguish between them.My line continues with Jasper, one of Nathan's and Nancy's sons who was named executor of the will. I understand you are descended from Jasper's brother Jeremiah. The will doesn't specifically name the other children.
The other Nathan, son of Samuel and brother of George, was born around 1718 and was married to Elizabeth (surname unknown)according to the Robinett Association books.
George, son of Samuel and father of my Nathan, was married to Catherine (surname unknown). Could this be where the confusion comes in?
I'm wondering if I have the wrong information or you do.Please let me know if you have figured this out.
It sounds like we are very distantly related.
