Searching for descendents of John and Sarah Tyler: believed
born in Sullivan County, TN, in the 1780s; lived in Scott County, VA, by the early to mid-1800s. Their children were James S., Hannibal, Benjamin, William, Alfred, Clifford, Caroline, Charlotte, Elizabeth and Mahala.
Rufus Sidney Tyler married Georgia Lee Robinette. Other known or possibly related families included Bailie, Lane, Horton, Lawson, Carter, Taylor, Butler, Barron, Rhoton, Cox, Riggs, Hammond/Hammonds/Hammon, and later Ring, Falin, Duncan, Dunn, Hanks, Faulkner, Johnson, Sanders, and McCollum. Associated place names include North Fork of the Holston River, Rye Cove, and later Turkey Cove in Lee County, VA.
