Verdie Lee Christian, 85, Mount Carmel, Hawkins Co TN,
went to be in the loving arms of her saviour at her
residence, following an extended illness, on Thursday,
February 2, 2012.

She lived most of her life in Hawkins County and attended
Oak Grove Baptist Church. She sang in the True Way Quartet
and was a good neighbor, showing kindness to everyone she
met. Ms. Christian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and
mother-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy M.
Christian; parents, Jim Robinette and Betty Sue Robinette;
daughter, Angela England; son-in-law, Jim McLain; sister,
Ebbie Kersey; brothers, G. B. Robinette, Landon Robinette,
and Clinton Robinette; and niece, Karen Morlock.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Keith (Tonie) Arnold,
Mr. (Bill) and Carol Christian, Mrs. David (Veronica)
Morton, Mrs. Doug (Yvonne) Wagner, and Vicki McLain; grand-
children, Mrs. Bryan (Penny) Henderson, Scott Christian,
(Jim) and Kerry Arnold, (Jeff) and Lora England, Barry and
(Charity) Frye, Todd Wagner, (Chris) and Brook England,
(Jimmy) and Marybeth McLain, (Ryan) and Beth Wagner,
(Kelly) and Lisa Morton, and (Rodney) and Lisa McLain;
great grandchildren, Whitney Christian, Matt, Lucas, and
Jordann Henderson, Kaleb, Devyn, and Morgan Arnold, Grayson
and Addison England, Julia McLain, Cole and Carson England,
and Garrett and Easton McLain; great great granddaughter,
Hannah; and sisters, Wilmoth Varney and Alwilda Morlock.

A special thank you to Hospice Nurse, Suzanne, Josie and
Rebecca for the wonderful care they gave our mom and our
family. Thank you to our family, neighbors, and friends
who have loved mom so much and praying for her and our
family.

Calling hours are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday,
February 4, 2012, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, and anytime
at her home, 325 Bay Street, Mt. Carmel, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m., Saturday, at
the Church with Dr. Randy Pressnell officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m., Sunday,
February 5, 2012, at Oak Hill Cemetery. Everyone wishing
to attend is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Scott Christian, Jim Arnold, Jeff
England, Todd Wagner, Chris England, Jimmy McLain, Ryan
Wagner, Kelly Morton, Rodney McLain, and Bryan Henderson.
