Thomas A. Rockhill White Plains Co. Nev.
I am looking for information about my G.G. grandfather, Thomas A. Rockhill. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1827, and became relatively well known as a miner, primarily in Nevada. In fact, I believe he was elected to the Nevada State Assembly in 1876 and the state senate in 1880.
He was also apparently quite a character, and carried gold around in his old frock coat...and according to one of our family stories, had a solid gold set of dentures made.
I write for a hobby & freelance magazine articles from time to time.If I could find enough information on "Old Gold Pockets" as he was known to some of his relatives, I would love to write an article on him.
If you are related, or simply know of any good resources, please let me know.
