Anna, We have been researching our Roddy family roots for some time.Your mention rang a bell as my grandmother, Tommie Lee Roddy (m Sadler) was born at Mixon in 1890.Her father was William Christopher Roddy b 1847 in Smith Co. and his father was Robert Riley Roddy b1820 in Rutherford Co., NC.We do know that several brothers also moved to Texas through MS, Tn, and LA but I don't have a complete record of all names yet.Perhaps this will give you a lead as it would be quite rare for unrelated Roddy's to have arrived in the same very small nondescript town like Mixon. Are you aware of any of the names of the women they married? That might also give us a clue as to relationship.I hope this helps you.
