My maiden name is Rodeffer - my family came from Ruth Mowen Rodeffer and Charles Rodeffer. They had three sons, William, Robert, Richard. William has one daughter (Christina), Robert has one daughter (Robin) and Richard had three sons (Steven, Michael & Douglas) and two Daughters (Sandra & Cheryl) all of Washington County, MD. Richard and two of his sons (Steven and Michael) are deceased. About 25 years ago we were contacted from someone is Michigan who was tracing the Rodeffer lineage. Don't know the history of Rodeffer - was told maybe German, but no one has known for sure.

Please post any info regarding origin of Rodeffer name.
