Kenneth,
THanks so much for posting this and I haven't taken time yet to go on the url site as I wanted to tell you that we are awaiting the DNA test results of my nephew who is a direct male ROGERS line to our JAMES ROGERS, Sr. and Jr. and Jr.'s son WILLIAM L. ROGERS b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC.As soon as our test results are posted on my nephews page, I will let you know and hopefully we will match one of the many ROGERS/ RODGERS groups already DNA tested at Family Tree.
Interesting is that our oral history is that our Rogers are PA ROGERS to NC, but we have no proof as we can't seem to find any records of our JAMES ROGERS, Sr. before his signature on the 1774 Anson Co. NC petition that he and son James Rogers, Jr. and a JOHN ROGERS signed. We still aren't sure which JOHN ROGERS is the one who also signed this 1774 Anson Co. NC Petition but we know that JOHN RODGERS/ ROGERS the ULSTER SCOT is said to have died about 1782 in Mecklenburg Co. NC ( may have been on land that became Cabarrus Co. NC as John had built his cabin along Back Creek at junction of Rocky River, per what Cabarrus Co. use to list on their history pages. )
Thanks again,
Tina
