Joanna, I am sorry I did not include enough information in my prior message. I had first looked at the 1900 U. S. Census for Illinois:

1900, IL, Edwards Co.
Thomas Rodgers, b. Mar 1867, IL; both parents b. IL; married 5 years
Jersey Grace Rodgers, b. Nov. 1868, b. IL, father b. NJ, Mother b. England; Jersey G. had given birth to 3 children, 2 living
Roy Rodgers, b. July 1889
Arnold Rodgers, b. Oct. 1895
Elsie Rodgers, b. Apr. 1898
It looks as though Jersey Grace might have been his 2nd wife. Married 5 years she was not the mother of Roy Rodgers.

Living next door:
John Rodgers, b. Nov. 1837, married 42 yrs, b. IL, father b. IN, mother b. NC
Caroline Rodgers, b. June 1832, b. IL, both parents b. England, Caroline had given birth to 9 children, 5 living
Clarence Rodgers, grandson, b. June 1890, IL, both parents b. IL

Going back to 1870 Edwards Co. IL I found Thomas A. Rodgers, age 5, living with his parents, John M. and Caroline Rodgers. (In the 1880 census his age was given as 14.) On the same page in 1870 Edwards County was Thomas Alexander Rodgers, b. IN. The wife of Thomas Alexander Rodgers was Charlotte, b. NC.

Going back to the families shown at Search Family Trees, if you will go to Thomas Rodgers, b. IN, died IL, then to the links provided by LidaKtaylor (shown to the right of the entry) you will find a list of the children of Thomas Alexander Rodgers, including John M. Rodgers. When you click on John M. Rodgers you will find a list of his children, including a Thomas A. Rodgers. It might have his birth date as 1866, I’m not sure, but I do believe this is your family. Thomas Alexander Rodgers, b. IN, would have been the grandfather of Thomas Adrian Rodgers.

Do you have access to census records? If not, I will send the full information for Thomas Alexander Rodgers and also see if I can find him in the census with his son, John M. Rodgers in the household. I’ll also post the full census 1870 and 1880 for John M. Rodgers, which includes Thomas A. (Adrian) Rodgers.

I hope this has been more helpful.
