Tina, I have been reading with interest some of your posts on John Rogers the Ulster Scot in Mecklenburg/Cabarrus NC. I was hoping you woould connect him with my presumed ancestor Samuel Patton of the same county who was son of Capt. John Patton of PA and VA. Capt. John was from Ireland and came to PA in the 1730s with his seven or so brothers who spread out all over the south.
Samuel was born in 1732,and was in PA with hs parents John and Sarah ROGERS, before the birth of Samuel's brother Benjamin. When of age, Those two sons of John and Sarah went to Mecklenburg Co and made their homes there, They lived near or on Dutch Buffalo Creek. Benjamin was a signer of the Meck. Declaratiion of independence, and both participated in the Revolution. Samuel's first son was named Joseph. .Anna, still to be identified was Samuel's wife. Since they lived in an area populated by families of German descent, she might have been one of their daughters.
