Contract Surgeon (Acting Assistant Surgeon, USA), 1862-65. He was assigned to the Satterlee US General Hospital, Philadelphia. It was known initially as the West Philadelphia General Hospital but was renamed as the Satterlee U. S. General Hospital during the Civil War.
