Capt. William Roe of the Schooner Henry Nicholas live in Caroline and or Talbot County MD around 1830's
In 1834 he married Katherine (Kitty) Scott, daughter of John Scott and Sarah Rice.
William Roe drowned in late 1835 leaving a Pregnant Katherine SCOTT ROE, only about 15 a widow.
Williams half interest in the Schooner was sold to Caleb Shepherd for $250.
Katherine married a Pratt and had Alexander and Mary Pratt.
Later she married Theodore Heather.
Her Child William Roe born 1936 Married his Cousin Mary Ann Covey, daughter of Thomas Covey and Sarah Scott (Katherines sister) Descendents of this union were William Roe 1858, Francis Henry Roe, 1862 and George Roe 1864.
descendents of George Roe who now live just outside Washington DC have ownership of a ROE Cemetery in Talbot County MD. Don't know exact location but think it is somewhere around Royal OAKS. or whether it has ever been indexed.
I am out here in Central Kansas and have been unable to get back to Maryland to investigate Talbot and surrounding counties.
Capt William Roe is my Gggrandfather.
I have been unable to find parents of Captian William ROE or any information on him prior to his marriage and Death.
any help would be appreciated.
