She was buried about 20 Jan 1921 in Chambers Cemetery, Geneva Twp, Michigan. Emogene died from pneumonia. Great Grandma Roe, being a young mother, did not know that you were not supposed to lay a baby down being so congested. The next morning Emogene had died. It was said after that, even if it meant she didn't get any sleep, she, never, never laid a sick baby down again. ( this was told to me by 3 of her surviving children). I think I have the only known photograph of Emogene, taken with my grandpa, Lloyd, their sister, Loree.

Died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at his home. He was born November 16, 1930 in Geneva Township, son of Clarence Roe and Georgie (Merriman) Roe. He was employed by the Everett Piano Factory in South Haven before moving to Kalamazoo in 1967, where he worked for several music stores, later becoming an independent piano tuner technician. He was united in marriage to Carol (Carrier) Roe in 1950. They made their home in Kalamazoo until returning to Lacota in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Carol Roe of Lacota, Michigan; two children, Suzanne Clarke of South Haven, Michigan, and Tony Roe of Daytona Beach, Florida; one sister, Lucille Fort-man. Clarence also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Emma Jean Roe and Loree Smith; two brothers, Lloyd Roe and Richard Roe. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Scott Hollebrands officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Area Hospice. The family is being helped by the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven 637-0333.
