Eugene:I am a great-great-grand-daughter of Frederick Roeder. My grand-mother was Nellie Mae Roeder Coulter Daugherty, daughter of James Randolph Roeder.James Randolph had about 10 (??) children (Albert, Nellie, Jess, Lillian, Fannie, Grace, and I forget the rest right now).My grand-mother had 10 children (married twice; Elizabeth Mae Coulter, Luther Coulter, Frederick Coulter; William W. Daughtery, Jr, Herbert Daughtery, Edward Daughtery, Ronald Daughtery; Mary Kathryn Daugherty; Betty Daugherty, Helen Daugherty.
I have also been contacted by Monica Wagner who is the great-grandaughter of Emma Shewbridge. Monica has a somewhat more detailed genealogy and we have been comparing notes.
Most of us still live in or around the Harpers Ferry, WVA area.I am very interested in your book.I also have a book that was written by Mr. Joseph Barry who was a friend and colleague of Frederick Roeder before the sniper killed him.He wrote a history of Harpers Ferry following the Civil War. The title is " The Strange Story of Harper's Ferry:With Legends of the Surrounding Country."
