Hi Peter, I guess by now you have found out some information on your missing relative . I have traced my Roff family back to Mass, USA 1790 but have not gotten much further.
It is a little off topic, but as far as I can determine my ancestors probably came from England. However, The Roff surname does not seem to be a common one and was wondering if Roff is English in origin. Roff has a gutteral germanic sound, but as far as I know none of my ancestor came from Geremany. I have noticed that some English sources list Roff and Rolf almost as interchangable even in one family.
Do you have any information on the national origin of the Roff sur name.
