Everyone needs to check census data on families they research, to know about the birth years of the individual, for you sometimes find that common names such as JAMES, WILLIAM, JOHN, and others are being confused within the ROGERS lines researched today.
For instance many list a WILLIAM ROGERS of Hickman / Humphreys Co. TN having been born anywhere from 1752 - 1763 to 1776 and his wife CHASEY JONES ROGERS being born abt. 1775. When you look at their census data and deeds in Hickman Co. TN and Humphreys Co. TN is tells the truth about their court records in those counties to know exactly when they were alive and on census's, as well as on deeds and here is what I have found thus far on this family.
We know that these ROGERS are listed on Hickman Co. TN Deeds up through 1831 at least. Yet some of them are in Humphreys Co. TN ( boundary lines of same land in both counties of Humphreys / Hickman is same land so they probably hadn't moved as their land was in both counties during various periods of time, I think ? )
1830 HICKMAN Co. TN CENSUS shows CYNTHIA CHASEY JONES ROGERS who is then listed as CHASEY ROGERS ( apparently widowed by then ? ) listed between the ages of 50 - 60 then making her born sometime between 1770 - 1780 but in the 1840 Humphreys Co. TN Census later on, she is listed in very same category of ages 50-60, so perhaps this census was taken shortly before her 60th birthday and the 1830 Hickman Co. TN census was taken right after her 50'th birthday meaning she is was born about 1780 ? That would reflect then as age categories of 50- 60 in both census's of 1830 and 1840 perhaps,
Looking further down the page that Chasey ( Jones ) Rogers is listed on the 1830 Hickman Co. TN census, we see PLEASANT ROGERS listed in age category of 30-40 ( as the eldest male in household ) and so he would have been born sometime between 1790 - 1800, and if Chasey Jones Rogers was born closer to 1780 she could still be the mother to Pleasant if he was born closer to 1800 then to 1790.
Looking further down the page still we find an ELIAS ROGERS in age category of 40-50 making Elias Rogers b. bet. 1780 - 1790 and still further down the page is GREEN ROGERS listed in age category as eldest male as 20-30 making GREEN ROGERS b. between 1800- 1810 on this 1830 HICKMAN Co. TN census.
Apparently WILLIAM ROGERS has no other Land Deeds in Hickman Co. TN after 1831 which is the date his name last appears on these deeds listed below.

The given names of these ROGERS are very close to our ROGERS family who lived in Carroll Co. TN as both the HICKMAN/ HUMPHREYS CO. TN ROGERS and our ROGERS in CARROLL CO. TN both had naming patterns of WILLIAM, JAMES, GREEN ROGERS and both sets of these Rogers also intermarried with the McMACKIN family out of Rowan/ Montgomery Co. NC, it is believed.
My WILLIAM L. ROGERS b. abt. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC is on the 1800 and 1810 Montgomery Co.NC Census, with McMECKINS as his neighbors in the 1810 Montgomery Co. NC Census, but by the 1830 census, my WILLIAM ROGERS moved from Montgomery Co. NC to CARROLL CO. TN and is on Jury duty then by Nov./ Dec. 1823. My William Rogers had signed his deed of sale of his ROGERS lands along LONG CREEK, over to MATHIAS BARRNGER on Feb. 18, 1823 and my Williams son named BASIL ROGERS was one of the two witnesses to this Montgomery Co. NC land deed in 1823. After that William ( L. ) Rogers and his son BASIL ROGERS and their large extended ROGERS family all moved to Carroll Co. TN and have Court REcords there while the other WILLIAM ROGERS and CHASEY JONES ROGERS of Mecklenburg Co. NC had then moved to Hickman/ Humphreys Co. TN by at last the first deed in Hickman Co. TN showing this WILLIAM ROGERS having been in Hickman Co. TN by at least 1808 - 1809.
