Some of the ROGERS researchers are listing very similiar naming patterns to our ROGERS of NC, who are now DNA TESTED, and most of my postings are on my GGG Grandfather WILLIAM L. ROGERS b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC who died in 1842 Carroll Co. TN but as a courtesey to those with these similar naming patterns to William L. Rogers brothers line who is John Rogers and had wife Sarah Biles who stayed in Montgomery Co. NC until it became Stanly Co. NC in 1841, I thought I would post a few hints on this family so others can check and see if they connect to this ROGERS family in NC but most of them stayed in NC while my William L. Rogers moved to Carroll Co. TN and we believe their other brother FREDERICK ROGERS moved to Hamilton Co. OHIO.
JOHN ROGERS b. abt. 1775 Montgomery Co. NC ; d. 1846 Stanly Co. NC and had married SARAH BILES about Oct. 1800 in Montgomery Co. NC it is thought. Their son JOHN M. ROGERS was born Jan. 08, 1812 in Montgomery Co. NC and he married ANNA MACKINS on Sept. 10, 1832. John M. Rogers died Sept. 20, 1847 in Stanly Co. NC leaving his wife ANNA MACKINS ROGERS a widow with several young sons. She later married GREEN PALMER and is mentioned as his wife in his will.
The children of JOHN M. ROGERS and wife ANNA MACKINS were :
1. JAMES HENDERSON ROGERS b. 1834 Montgomery Co. NC ; md. RACHEL FRICK sometime between 1855 - 1856. Rachel Frick b. May 08, 1837 ( probably Cabarrus Co. NC region ) . Rachel was dau. of Charles Frick. JAMES HENDERSON ROGERS died during the CIVIL WAR on July 01, 1863. JAMES HENDERSON ROGERS and RACHEL FRICK are parents of REUBEN ALEXANDER ROGERS b. Dec. 11, 1857 NC who married MARY JANE MOODY on Jan. 17, 1878 and had children : WILLIAM HENDERSON ROGERS b. Oct. 30, 1878 ; d. Aug. 29, 1944 and he had wife MARY CORILLA RITCHIE b. Oct. 12, 1880; d. Feb. 15, 1940. Another child of Rueben Alexander Rogers and Mary Moody is daughter MARY LOU ROGERS b. July 27, 1880 ; d. Nov. 07, 1947 and her husband was CHARLES WESLEY WAGNER b. Aug. 15, 1879.
2. DAVID M. ROGERS b. abt. 1836 ( also a son of JOHN M. ROGERS and wife ANNA MACKINS ) .
3. JOHN W. ROGERS b. abt. 1838 ( also a son of JOHN M. ROGERS and wife ANNA MACKINS ) .
4. DANIEL D. ROGERS b. July 03, 1841 ( also a son of John M. Rogers and Anna Mackins ) md. Margaret Frick b. May 25, 1840 and had son named DANIEL A. ROGERS b. Aug. 19, 1861, who md. Margaret Anne Ritchie b. Nov. 29, 1866. They married abt. 1884.
5. REUBEN C. ROGERS b. abt. 1844 ; d. Nov. 01, 1864.
6. MADISON ROGERS b. abt. 1848.
