I only know about William Rogers and Chasey Jones from their descendants ( the Late Ray Rogers and John Thomas ). John Thomas has listed a lot about this family on Genforum, and you can refer to his Rogers postings on Jones Rogers, and his parents William Rogers and Chasey Jones, by putting in those names and doing a search on Rogers Genforum.
The deeds I listed of this family while living in Hickman Co's TN is about all the work I have done on this family. However, JONES ROGERS moved to Carroll Co. TN from Hickman and after his father WILLIAM ROGERS died, is when Jones Rogers initiated that law suit against his fathers estate. On the HICKMAN CO. TN Court records of this case, is the name of a LEGAL COUNSEL to JONES ROGERS, who is listed as " JAMES ROGERS of CARRROLL CO. TN " and the late Ray Rogers had long ago written me to ask if this was our JAMES ROGERS ( b. abt. 1801 NC who md. ARAMINTA GREEN ) or another JAMES ROGERS in Carroll Co. TN ? I still don't know the answer to that, though we know that JONES ROGERS also had a brother named JAMES ROGERS he was probably too young to be a LEGAL COUNSEL then on this case.
From what I understand of John Thomas's research on this family, CHASEY JONES is listed as is her husband WILLIAM ROGERS in the MECKLENBURG CO. NC DEED entries for her JONES FAMILY there. Later both Chasey Jones Rogers and her husband moved with the first of their children born in NC to Hickman / Humphreys Co. TN and thus the deeds that I listed in Hickman Co. TN may have some of the names of those they associated with in both NC and TN. It is possible but I just don't know if anyone named in those deeds of William Rogers and Chasey Jones in Hickman Co. TN were also in Mecklenburg prior to living in Hickman / Humphreys with these ROGERS ?
We know that my own family of another WILLIAM L. ROGERS b. abt. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC and wife NANCY and all their many children lived in nearby CARROLL CO. TN. In this same Carroll Co. TN are other ROGERS groups and one is an ALEXANDER ROGERS b. abt. 1817 who d. 1875 and had wife MARY BUTLER. I DON'T RESEARCH that line, but believe they too are out of NC to Carroll Co.TN. ALEXANDER ROGERS and MARY BUTLER had a son named ELIAS ALONZO ROGERS b. abt. 1849 ; d. 1923 in Carroll Co. TN.
ELIAS ALONZO ROGERS b. 1849 married MARGARET JONES. So that is a familar name to the same family of WILLIAM ROGERS and CHASEY JONES, of MECKLENBURG CO. NC To Hickman/ Humphreys Co.'s TN, but I don't know if this is the same family of JONES In Margarets family as in CHASEY's family back in Mecklenburg. Just a coincidence possibly, but something you can check out.
Our Montgomery Co. NC WILIAM L. ROGERS b. abt. 1770 NC died in 1842 in Carroll Co. TN and his many children, their spouses and children all lived in Carroll Co. TN after leaving NC. In fact, several of the descendants in our ROGERS line are still in Carroll Co. TN and surrounding areas, I believe, but many had left Carroll Co. TN moving into many other states such as ILLINOIS, KY, AR, TX, OK and etc. Our recent DNA on our WILLIAM L. ROGERS lines shows that we are in line to be of the ancient SCOTS named MacRORY who left Scotland and moved to IRELAND and became the ROGERS family. The surname of MacRORY died out in IRELAND but the name of ROGERS is still there, and the descendants of the MacRORY Family of Scotland to Ireland are also found in NC as well as AR, but the MacRory family who kept that spelling, changed the name to MacRORIES/ then to RORIES during the REV WAR and later migrated into ARKANSAS as well living in same county and surrounding counties in AR where our ROGERS migrated to out of Carroll Co. TN in 1870. The spelling of RORIES ( for MacRORY/ MacRORIES of Scotland/ Ireland/ NC ) are today in counties of INDEPENDENCE Co. AR, SEARCY Co. AR, and believe also some in BOONE CO. AR or surrounding areas.
Interesting is that many of these ancient Scots who were MacRory in Scotland are also said to be of the first known IRISH who came into SCOTLAND then had name of MacRORY and later went back to IRELAND as MacRORY and were mercenaries, changint the surname in Ireland from MacRory to ROGERS.
SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO A DNA TEST on the line of WILLIAM ROGERS ( wife CHASEY JONES ) of Hickman/ Humphreys Co. TN to determind if he too is any kinships to our ROGERS / MacRORY/ MACRORIES or other ROGERS groups. This takes a direct male descendant of WILLIAM ROGERS ( who had wife CHASEY JONES ) to do a DNA TEST and I suggest anyone who qualifies as such, to do at least a 37 DNA Marker test or more to make sure which ROGERS groups they might fit into best.
