Nicholas,
My great-grandmother was a Rohling and her family was from Germany - not sure on location but I think I know where to find it. They lived around the Kingfisher & Blaine County Areas in Oklahoma. She married a Peters - also a family that came from Germany.

My grandmother spoke German & cooked it until the day she died.

I'll see if I can find more info and perhaps I can help.
