Charles and Grace are in Summit in the 1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940 federal censuses and in the 1905 WI state census. Their children included: Pearl, Leona, Gilbert, Chester, Charles, and Lola May. In each census Charles states he was born in WI, but his parents were born in Germany.
There's a WI marriage record for a Carl ROHLOFF, b. Ixonia WI, to Grace MERICKLE, b. Summit, WI, on 26-Mar-1900 in Milwaukee. Groom's parents were Carl ROHLOFF and Minnie SCHILLING. Bride's parents were William MERICKLE and Sarah YOUNGS.
In 1900 newly married Carl and Grace are living in the household of Fred and Louisa FIEDLER. Carl was b. Oct 1878 and Grace was b. Feb 1881.
In 1880 there's a Carl and Minnie ROHOLOFF in Ixonia, Jefferson Co, WI with children: Hannah, Minnie, Francis, Ferdinand, Herman, Emma, and Carl. Carl, age 1, has been listed as female and sister not son. I believe this is likely a mistranscription, but I can't view the original to verify. Carl Sr. is 35, b. Germany, Minnie is 39, b. Germany, and the oldest child, Hannah, age 15, was also born in Germany. The rest of the children were born in WI.
In 1900 Charles and Minnie are in the same location and have 3 more daughters who were born after the 1880 census: Hulda, Lizzie and Ida.
By 1910 Wilhelmine ROHLOFF is widowed and living in the household of her son, Herman.
