I am researching the same line, William and Elizabeth of Ludham being my GGG grandparents and like many others have reached the brick wall mentioned. I was pleased to hear the suggestion about Barton Turf as that is the line of enquiry I have just started. As William Roll of Ludham Manor married his second wife who came from Barton Turf and there is an Elizabeth Roll from Barton Turf mentioned in a few family trees c 1720, I wondered if there was a family connection and in fact that was where William Snr came from. I have also found an unreadable surname but the first name William, parents William and Sarah from the Parish register transcript of Neatishead 1717 though no other Rolls seem to be mentioned.
Also there are 'Balls' family members mentioned in Neatishead Baptism register 1703 - 1716 and Eamey(that's how it is spelt on the register) Barker's mother was of that family name.
Wouldn't it be great to solve the puzzle. Even though my anscestors have Beevor in their name and all else fits, I still have to find the baptism of my gg grandfather Edward Roll who seems to have fallen between Hickling and Ludham.
