According to " The family records of the first settlers of Passaic Valley; Littell 1851 ", John Roll changed his name from Johanis Mangele(sic) upon entering this country. Isaac Roll and Sarah Cauldwell kept a tavern in Springfield, NJ, and Catherine and Abner Woodruff moved to Redstone,PA before heading to Ohio.
Also, the Sickle name was originally VanSyckle. Your info matches my info very closely. The majority of mine comes from original family documents, correspondence, and obscure local publications.
