Paula,
I was looking around on the net and discovered this site and decided to have a look. To my suprise, I discovered people who share the same great grandmother as me. Sarah Katherine Rollison Carter of Chestertown, Maryland was my grandfathers mother and my namesake. My grandfather was Levin Ludlow Carter. His father was George W. Carter. I also found a Levin Rollison who was a soldier in the Battle of Caulk's Field in August 1813. My brother's name is Robert Levin Carter (named after our grandfather).

My great grandmother (Sarah K.) died when I was only five and I have no memory of her, however my mother told me that when she named me after her, my great grandmother said, "if you name her after me, you must call her Kate." Whenever she sent cards to me, she addressed them to Miss Kate Carter. Just thought I'd share my personal family memories.

If you would like to know more -- or if you have more information -- you can write directly to me at Mackin100@cs.com.

Kate Carter Hansen
