yes, the book you have is the same as what is in my mom's possession.(she has the original - needs to be restored and rebound). She got it from my nana - Madeline who received it from her uncle Lif or aunt Hazel (we think anyway)
.
I was wondering about the irish/staffordshire branch if the info was correct or not as I realize there are a lot of lines coming from Europe.
there is a notation about some sort of castle of dublin. Is this correct in our lineage?
David Dermott would be my great grandfather.I have a picture of Kathleen Latimer (his wife) in my living room.If I can scan it onto a computer, would you like it sent to you?
FYI:here is the latest additions to the David Dermott Line coming from his son Charles Rolston (my granddad) and Madeline (his sister, my great aunt)
Charles married Marie Chandler (an interesting tidbit: she is a direct descendent of Edward Barron Chandler, one of the canadian father's of confederation)
Charles and Marie had a girl - Gail who died of SIDS at 3 or 6 months. Gail was born sometime in early to mid 1930's then came George Kent born sometime between 1935-37. Uncle Kent died in the late 1970's from pulmonary edema (he was better known as Kent) then came Byron Charles born Sept 19, 1940.He died last new years of complications from kidney stones (death: Dec 30, 2005). Neither my uncle Kent or Uncle Byron ever married.
Then came my mom, Brenda Marie born March 22, 1944. She is still alive and kicking.(I will be seeing her this Christmas). She has two daughters, myself -Dawn Marie (born April 15, 1969) and my sister Debbie Lynn (born June 24, 1970) then comes Wayne Gordon Rolston born May 23, 1948. He married Kathleen Sexton or Sexsmith who had two children, Gordon Wayne Rolston born 1968 and Amanda born sometime between 1972-74.We don't havemuch contact with Uncle Wayne but I don't beleive my cousin Gordon has married or had any kids.
My great aunt Madeline married Roy Findley in the 1930's.They divorced (a big deal back then) sometime in the early 1960's. She never had kids.
On another note: my mom has an article from the Vancouver Province paperabout a C. M. Rolston obituary. He was a pioneer of Vancouver who opened up the first gas station in the city in 1906.
my mom's side are collectors of 'stuff'.they tend to hang on to pretty much everything. (lol). When I'm down in Kelowna next to visit my mom, I'll go through some of the boxes of 'stuff' to see if there is anything interesting that I can send you.(if you are interested in something particular, let me know.the canadian side I'm sure is well preserved in my mom's spare room lol!).
thanks for getting back to me!
I will be doing some more research on the eglish line and will let you know if I come across anything of interest!
