Ronald Family From Aberdeen Scotland
Posted by: David McRonald Date: October 21, 2001 at 02:45:29
  of 62

Although my name is David McRonald, I have discovered that the family name was changed from Ronald between 1867-1872.

My 2nd Great Grandfather, John Ronald died in 1872 in Aberdeen and his wife and 3 of her children appear to have left the UK after that date and certainly before 1881.

Does anyone have a Jane Ronald (m.s. Shirreffs) born 1817 Aberdeenshire, Alexander Ronald born 1855 Aberdeen, Agnes Ronald or Jane Ronald both born c. 1850 in Aberdeen in their family tree?

I believe that Canada or Australia may have been the most likely destination, having read the Aberdeen Journal adverts for ship destinations of the time.

Hope someone has this link.
