Michael RONALD (called Mitchell) was born in Swinton, Old
Monkland, Scotland, in 1855, where his father Alexander Logan
RONALD was a Coal Miner. His mother was Henrietta BONE who
was born in Edinburgh. Mitchell was one of 7 children who
survived infancy. The family moved south from Scotland to
Northumberland, England where they worked in the coal mines He migrated to the USA with brothers Henry, and Alexander the
other children remaining in England. Mitchell was married to Marion BARR in Bloomington, Illinois,in Sept 1880. Their children were Alexander, Robert, Henrietta, Jessie, Etheland Marion. The RONALD family lived at Falkirk, Scotland back to the 1600s.
