I haven't been able to find any census record on anyone in that family for 1880. Someone told me that those records burned. The only thing I have for Nathaniel Collins in the 1880's is a copy of an old court case where he was a witness. The document is dated 1881. Everyone listed in the court case was living in the Choctaw Territory, Scullyville County, now part of LeFlore County, Oklahoma. They must have been there awhile before moving on to Pottawatomie County, OK. I started researching this part of my family to look into my indian ancestry. My grandfather always told me I was part Cherokee. He always said his grandmother Susan Roper was part indian. Do you have any info concerning that?
