I'm looking to determine the family branch of James W. Roper of Mobile. On L. David Roper's webpage I find the following entry: James W. Roper (b 1801 James City VA d 1856 Mobile AL), son of Randolph Roper, (in 1833) built a mansion called Oakleigh House in Mobile, Alabama. I have searched through John Roper Jr's descendant listing (www.roperld.com) and do not find him.
