Emma Roper - 1850 Wiltshire, daughter of George Roper
Posted by: John Dawson (ID *****9023) Date: August 16, 2012 at 15:56:37
  of 1882

Emma Roper was born about 1850 in Corsley, Wiltshire, the daughter of “agricultural laborer” George and his wife Ann. Emma had two older sisters, Jemima and Ellen Roper. By 1871 Emma was employed as nanny in the household of Henry Pinniger, a prominent solicitor of Wiltshire, his wife Sophia, and their seven children. I am searching for a photograph or other information on Emma Roper. This lady was the nanny of P.G. Wodehouse, the British author and creator of "Jeeves."
