Civil War Pension File of Jesse T. ROPER
Posted by: William Alexander Roper (ID *****0344) Date: December 15, 2012 at 15:08:57
In Reply to: Thompson C. Roper, Jr. (b 22 Jan 1868? - IL, d 06 Aug 1919 - Jasper, MO) by William Alexander Roper of 1882

The Civil War Pension File of Jesse T. ROPER, deceased, seems to identify Mary E. GOLDSMITH as Jesse's widow and Thompson C. ROPER as a minor dependent child.

Jesse T. ROPER seems to have served in C Company 11th Ill. Infantry.

The Pension Application Number for Thompson C. ROPER is shown to be 352635 filed in Missouri on 31 Mar 1887. The Certificate Number seems to have been 358008.

The widow's Pension Application No. was 385857 filed in Missouri on 20 Dec 1888, with CErtificate No. 358007.

I would think that the Pension applications might give additional valuable genealogical information and would encourage you to obtain and transcribe copies!
