The child shown in the 1880 Census as J. B. WILLIAMS, age 8, is almost certainly the James Bracken WILLIAMS (b 25 Jul 1877-Lawrence, TN, d 28 Dec 1941-Lawrence, TN) shown in the Tennessee Death Records as dying in Lawrence on 28 Dec 1941. His father is identified as Bob WILLIAMS and his mother is identified as T. C. ROPER. He is shown to have been born in Lawrence County, TN, and to have been married to Pearl WILLIAMS, who is shown to be age 55 at James WILLIAMS' death. Maud WILBURN is shown to be the informant for this death record.

James Bracken WILLIAMS middle name is shown on his WW I Draft Card. He seems likely to have been named for Telitha C. Roper WILLIAMS' uncle James Bracken ROPER.
