John & Helen Ropp, Indiana

I'm looking for more information on this family:

1850 Census: Marion Twp., Decatur Co., IN
John Ropp Sr., 58, farmer, 800, GERMANY
Helen Ropp, 46, GERMANY
John Ropp Jr., 13, VA
Catharine Ropp, 11, VA
Benhard Ropp, 10, VA
Joseph Ropp, 7, IND

There was another daughter named Elizabeth (probably John's stepdaughter):

Elizabeth Venis was born in Germany, June 17, 1829. She came to America at the age of 7 years and was united in marriage with George Kempf in 1849, who died January 28, 1882. To this union were born seventeen children, four of whom have gone to the better land. She came to Wilsonville in February, 1902, where with her son George, she made her home until death. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, yet she lived to love every other church that exalted her Christ. All that medical skill and kind hands could do was administered to her. She lingered with us several days in great suffering but with much patience only waiting for the summons, “Child Come Home.” She departed this life July 7, 1906, at 5 o’clock a.m. She leaves a host of friends and eight daughters and five sons to mourn the loss of a kind neighbor and a loving mother. Peace be to her memory. A short funeral service was held at the home Saturday afternoon by Rev. C. H. Chader. The body was put aboard the evening train and taken to the old home at St. Elmo, Illinois, where interment was made in the family lot. George Kempf accompanied the remains east. Three sons were present at the bedside when the final summons came, they being George, Frank and R. M. Kempf all of this village.
