I went to Glendale,IL where William and Martha are buried. Found some Evitts there that were descendants. They had heard the same story as me (although we haven't had contact over several generations) about Martha refusing to wear shoes (would carry them to church and put them on to go in and pull off on the way out...saying that she was indian and didn't like shoes. Don't know if anyone else has heard that...my grandfather told it once to me. Do you know anything about that or their life in TN and NC? Or Which side it would come from...the Rorex or Parks side?

I found some of the Evitts burried nearby Wm and Martha. Wm and Martha has one of the oldest stones in that church cemetery (Methodist I think). It appeared to be the first one as it is the starting conner.

I only found James Rorax mentioned in the earliest land record books.
