Robert Edward Rosenstein
Son of Rudolph Rosenstein of German birth, and Elizabeth Webb of Eastern Tennessee, sixth of a large family, born 1871 Cairo, Illinios. Attended public schools, Barry County, Missouri and Galveston, Texas. At fifteen, entered employ of Cotton Belt Railway, Tyler, Texas as machinist apprentice and continued till after marriage in 1891 to Mary E. Gould of West Virginia. Boyhood ambition to be lawyer, but discouraged by family.
After marriage attended Add-Ran (now Texas) Christian University and later Central Christian College (now defunct) at Albany, Missouri, in preparation for ministry. Education mostly "hand picked" however.
Pastor Bolckow and Albany, Missouri, Howard, Burlington and Manhattan, Kansas, Bartlesville, I. T. and Edmond, Oklahoma. At Manhattan did special work Kansas State Agricultral College and continued study of law, which had commenced in boyhood at Tyler, Texas.
Admitted to bar, 1903. Commenced practice of law at Skiatook this county, 1908 where also ministered to church about four years. Later removed to Cherokee County, Kansas where engaged in practice of law at Baxter and Columbus till April 1926 at which time came to Tulsa. Since then in general civil practice here, associated with, but not member of, firm of Silverman & Rosenstein, 502 Atlas Building, Specialize Corporation law and land titles.
