Oral history tells me that my branch of the Rosentreter tree comes from a town called Buguy, Posen. I could not find this town on any old or new map. Is there such a place or something that sounds like it?
My Johann Rosentreter was born 24 April 1837 in Buguy??, Posen. He married there Pauline Emma Ann Wittke. She was born 1859 - 1860 also in the same town. They came to the States between 1869 and 1875 and settled eventually in Oak Harbor, Ohio. They had 12 children. Some of their earlier children had died in Posen before they sailed for the States. I am sure that most Rosentreters are eventually related. They were members of the Lutheran church. The names of their children were: Emma Pauline. Amanda, Rudolph Bruno, Marie, Paul, Oscar John, Charles R., William, Clara I., John Samuel, Natalia Gertrude, George Christian. Anny help is very much appreciated. I am also glad to share what I have researched with any one interested in this family.
