My husband's great-grandfather, Charles Ludwig (Karl Ludvig) Rossing came to the U.S. from Karlstad, Varmland, Sweden in 1887. He settled in the Suffield area of Connecticut first, then Unionville, and finally made his home in Hartford. He became a shoemaker. He had a brother, Bror, who also came to the U.S. and settled in the Jamestown, NY area. He married and had 2 sons and a daughter, only one son's name is known to me: Victor. He also had a sister, Anna Larsson Strom. His parents were: Caroline (Gunn) and Gustav Rossing.
