The obituary of Rachel Crow Roszell as in the Miami Union Newspaper July 8, 1897:
Mrs. Rachel Aun Roszell, wife of Rev. Joseph Roszell, a local preacher of Tippecanoe City, died on Sunday evening, July 4th, 1897.
Her last illness which lasted six weeks, was very severe from the first. She became better, however, after about two weeks, and all entertained strong hopes of her recovery. But on Monday, one week prior to her death, a relapse came, and although all was done that loving hands and tender care with physician's skill could do, yet it was apparent that the end was drawing near, and in the evening of the Sabbath day, she quietly and gently passed away. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss. These were all permitted to be with her in her last days and minister to her wants.
She was born in Virginia, September 1st, 1832, thus being 64 years, 10 months and 3 days old at the time of her decease.
She was married to Joseph Roszell June 22nd, 1851. All their married life was spent in Miami County, where they had a large circle of acquaintances and friends. In early life she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and ever remained a faithful consistent member of the same. The funeral was held in the M. E. Church of Tippecanoe City, Wednesday, July 7, conducted by the pastor, J. R. Hill. Burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.

A biography of Oscar T. Roszell from Bigraphical Sketches and Stories of Miami County Ohio Peope, Places and Things:
O.T.ROSZELL, grain dealer, with business quarters on South Mulberry Street, Troy, was born in 1858 near Tippecanoe City, Miami County, Ohio, and is a son of Rev. Joseph Roszell.
The father of Mr. Roszell was born in 1822 in New Jersey, and was nine years of age when he was brought to Montgomery County, Ohio and sixteen when he came to Miami County. He was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
O.T.Roszell obtained his education in his native township and also at Tippecanoe City, and followed an agricultural life until he was about twenty-four years of age. After his marriage he came to Troy and at first engaged in a grain business, but shortly afterward sold out and for a few months was interested in furniture manufacturing. Deciding that Tippecanoe City at that time offered a better field for that business, he moved there and continned in the manufacture of furniture for ten years. He then carried on a milling and grain business at New Carlisle for three years, after which he came to Troy and established his present enterprise, first under the style of Roszell & Hale. On account of poor health, Mr. Hale withdrew, and since then Mr. Roszell has been sole proprietor under his own name. He deals in grain, seed, feed, etc., and is a representative business man of the city.
In 1887 Mr. Roszell was married to Miss Blanche Hale, a daughter of John Hale, of Miami County. They have five children, namely Mabel, who is a member of the graduating class of 1909 at the Troy High School; Clarence, Earl and Ralph, all students; and Dorothy, the youngest. Mr.Roszell is identified with both the Masons and Odd Fellows.
